This is the Prayer Letter for May 2012. Please use this list to target praying in your group over the next month. The prayer requests focus on quality rather than quantity.

Sunday

Pray for Diane and Wendy as they take up office of church wardens.  Ask the Lord to make them adequate for this important role within our church.  Pray also for those elected to serve on the PCC and thank God for them and their willingness to serve.  Serving is an integral part of being a Christian; pray that more hearts will be moved to serve as we all grow in Christ.

Monday

Nathan Browne (member of FROG youth group) and Ann Menzies will be confirmed at St Pauls, Skelmersdale on 8th May.  Pray for them as they take this important step of publicly declaring their faith in Jesus Christ.  Ask the Lord to give them encouragement and pray for the Holy Spirit’s touch upon them, leading them forward and transforming them day by day into His likeness.

Tuesday

Please pray hard that new leaders will step forward for the baby and toddler groups on Wednesdays.  Ask the Lord to move the hearts of His people.  There are so many babies in this group and it is really important to have committed Christian leaders with a heart for God and His little ones.  Pray for Joanna, Christine and the other helpers as they stand in the gap.

Wednesday

There are to be nine weddings taking place in our church this summer.  Pray for these couples as they prepare for their important day.  Pray that the Holy Spirit will already be at work in their lives, guiding them not only as they make their vows of commitment to one another, but also as they adjust to living together and learning to prefer one another’s needs.

Thursday

A remembering and thanking service for the bereaved is on 13th May.  Pray that all who come will receive courage and comfort in the Lord’s presence and in the fellowship of others in similar circumstances.  Pray that many will determine to seek Him.  Pray for all who minister in any capacity, that by His Spirit, they will reveal the love of Jesus for those who weep.

Friday

There are several family friendly social events planned for the coming months.  Pray that families will be moved to come and spend time together in fun and Christian fellowship, and that outreach to our community will be enabled and relationships cemented and deepened.  When we know one another better, we are better able to help each other in times of need.  Pray for good fellowship and good times.

Saturday

Many of our young people will be preparing and studying hard for important exams this month.  Ask the Lord to help them recall all that they have faithfully learned so that they will do well.  Pray for parents and siblings, asking for wisdom and patience at a stressful time for all.
