'Boxing' Day comes early to Burscough?Posted by Phil Marshall on 01/12/2010We've all experienced that familiar Boxing Day feeling of over indulgence, but over the Christmas period do we take the time to consider those less fortunate than ourselves? Well, children and families in Burscough have been doing just that by supporting the Samaritan's Purse 'Operation Christmas Child' shoe box appeal.
Elizabeth, aged 4, really enjoyed helping her mum put together a shoe box for the appeal, "I put in some sweeties, pens and paper, and a hairbrush for a girl who had nothing who lives in Africa. It was a nice thing to do so that she can have something to play with, and it’s always better to share" said Elizabeth. |
