Pastoral care is at the heart of every Christian community.  In addition to the care provided by housegroups, clergy and the pastoral team, we are able to offer a range of support for times when you may find yourself in need of specific or general support and guidance.

Visiting
Visiting There may be times when you would like someone to visit, for no particular reason rather than having someone to see, do call, we would be very happy to call in and see you, nothing is required of you, we value you just as you are.

Hospital Visiting
Hospital Visiting If you or someone you know finds themselves in hospital then do make contact and we will pleased to visit them.

Bereavement Care
Bereavement When someone in the Parish dies, members of the bereaved family are offered a visit from a member of the Bereavement team. If requested they will come alongside for a short while and offer support and understanding.

Those who have been bereaved are welcome to meet at Horizon. Horizon meets on the first Monday of every month (1.00-3.00 pm) in the West End of Church.  This is a warm and loving space where those who have been bereaved can simply “come and be” with others and members of our Pastoral team.  Tea and cakes are available in this calm and loving place.

Counselling
Counselling If you require a counsellor then we may be able to recommend someone who is trained in a way that is best suited for you.

Debt
Debt The CAP Money Management team offer confidential one to one advice as well as running budgeting courses. For more in-depth advice the team will draw on the expertise of CAP Direct, a debt counselling service that this award winning organization have put in place to help people through tough times.

Home Communion
Home Communion Every month, members of the Home Communion team take communion to all the residential and nursing homes in Burscough.  We are also pleased to offer occasional seasonal services in residential care homes in the parish. The clergy and the team also go to those who may find themselves housebound or recovering from illness.

Listening
Listening Listening is one of the most healing things we can offer to another person.

If you would value having someone listen effectively to you, then we have a team of trained listeners who would be very willing to meet with you and hear what you would like to say in confidence.

Meal Ministry
Meal Ministry In a time of crisis, bereavement, returning from hospital, we are able to offer a few meals to help you through a difficult time.
