Parish Office: (01704) 897852
About Ian
I was born in 1974 in Southport which is where I lived until the age of four. Before moving to Bristol where my dad began training for ordained ministry. Three years later we ended up living in Bootle for a few years where my dad served his curacy, before moving to south Liverpool for ten years. After studying for my ‘A’ levels, I attended St. Katherine’s teacher training college (affiliated to Liverpool University) where I trained for four years to become a primary school teacher.
I got my first teaching post in Huyton, Liverpool, where I taught for 12 years. It was during this time that I began to seriously consider God’s call on my life. It took another six years before I eventually started the process of training for ordained ministry.
By this time I was married to Nicola and we now have three children, Tom, Andrew and Naomi. After two years of training at St. John’s Theological College in Nottingham, I was ordained in July 2009 and was delighted to accept the invitation to come to St. John’s Burscough as curate. As a family we are really excited about life in Burscough and are looking forward all that God has in store for us as church family.
