Monthly Prayer Letter

Go to previous prayer letter:

This is the Prayer Letter for November.  Please use this list to target praying in your group over the next month.  The prayer requests focus on quality rather than quantity.

Sunday

Sue Fischer, 20, who worships at Pancha’s brother’s church in Santiago, Chile, will be spending a week with us from 29 October to 7 November as part of her gap year working for SAMS. Pray that she will find a warm welcome as she visits various parts of our country and that her experiences here will be helpful to her in her future work. Ask the Lord to enlarge her faith and encourage her as she works for SAMS.

Monday

The Parish Advisory Team (Vicar, Curate, Brian, 2 wardens, Kerry, Jenny H and Derek B) meets on 1st November to look ahead and dream some dreams on behalf of St John’s. Ask the Lord to inspire them and make His will plain to them as they meet. Thank God for them, all dedicated to doing His work; pray that they will know His leading as they seek to enlarge the vision of our church.

Tuesday

Interviews are to be held on 2 November for the post of pastoral coordinator. Pray that just the right person can be found to help with this vital outreach work, so that the clergy and all other visitors can be made aware of need quickly and efficiently. There are many people now involved in this work; thank God for them and pray for even more helpers because there is great need.

Wednesday

Pray for the cluster pastors who are having training time with Duncan on 6th November, that they will find this beneficial in their care of the various housegroups. Pray that we may all be faithful in surrounding and upholding one another in prayer, from which we all benefit. Thank God for Duncan’s ministry as he continues to support us at St John’s, and pray for him and Oaks as they seek the lost in Tanhouse.

Thursday

The 7th November is commitment night for the current basics group. Thank God that this group is growing together and ask the Holy Spirit to draw those whom the Lord is calling into a closer walk with Him. Pray for all seekers and helpers, that this will be a blessed time for them and that new life is beginning for each one.

Friday

On 25th November there will be a party at the vicarage for anyone who has recently started worshipping with us at St John’s. This is a great opportunity for people to get to know one another and really start to fellowship together. Pray for a relaxed and convivial atmosphere with every one of one heart and mind. Ask the Lord to richly bless this gathering and thank Him for willing helpers.

Saturday

Please pray for Joanna, Caroline, Neil and Simon as they continue to minister in Lordsgate and St John’s schools. Pray that the good work they are now doing there will bear much fruit in years to come, that we may see these children come to strong faith in our Lord Jesus; pray for an ever stronger Christian ethos in the schools; pray for the staff, teachers and parents, and pray that our limited influence in the Village school might persuade some children to join our youth groups.
