This is the Prayer Letter for March. Please use this list to target praying in your group over the next month. The prayer requests focus on quality rather than quantity.
Sunday
During the next few weeks, new disciples will be being encouraged into ministry. Pray for them and the ministry encouragers; pray for servant hearts and loving shepherds, a willingness to go on with Jesus in perhaps a completely new way, showing love for Him and one another by ”tying on our aprons” and serving.
Monday
There will be a barn dance on 10th March. Pray that this will be an effective time of outreach into our community, as well as a time for church fellowship. Pray that we will all, over the months to come, have a heart for reaching out with friendship and love to those beyond the doors of the church. Pray for Burscough as we play our part in its regeneration; there will be some who only need a friendly invitation; ask the Lord to show you someone.
Tuesday
The staff team is going to have a quiet day on 13th March. Pray for each one of them (Neil, Simon, Brian, Reina, Jean, Joanna) as they take time away from the busyness of church, to reflect, read, pray, and draw near to the Lord. Pray for refreshment and the Holy Spirit’s infilling and equipping. Thank God for them and the work they do.
Wednesday
Pray for the house group leaders’ meeting on 14th March. Pray that this will be a time of mutual encouragement and insight, helping each of the groups to gain from the others. Thank God for the leaders as they give time and effort for their groups; pray that the Lord will continue His hand upon each one, guiding them and being to each as he has need. If you are in a group, pray for your particular leader and his or her family. Consider them as Christ considers you.
Thursday
Six of our children’s leaders will be attending a NW New Wine training day in Cheshire on 18th March. Pray for all who attend this venue, that there will be tremendous enthusiasm for leading young people at the New Wine festival in the summer. Pray for the Holy Spirit’s blessing as they meet together and plan their itineraries. This work is close to the Lord’s heart; let’s prioritise it in our prayers also – these leaders need our support for the important work they do.
Friday
Pray for our services this month; the theme is discipleship. Ask the Lord to come by His Spirit and minister to each one of us as we learn to grow together and become better disciples. Ask Him to give us a new impetus for prayer, fellowship and the love of His word, serving one another in love, not because we must, but because we are willing. Pray for the Holy Spirit’s equipping for those who lead and preach.
Saturday
Pray for Neil as he attends an important meeting in Warwick on the 20th March, on “Leading your church into Growth”. Thank God that he has been given a real heart for this vital work; pray for him as he strives to encourage others in their outreach; this too, is vital work for our Lord. Ask the Holy Spirit to prepare the hearts and minds of His servants to be receptive to Neil’s delivery, and be willing to act, as the Lord requires.
