Monthly Prayer Letter

Go to previous prayer letter:

This is the Prayer Letter for March.  Please use this list to target praying in your group over the next month.  The prayer requests focus on quality rather than quantity.

Sunday

The latest basics group is now ongoing. Please pray that the Holy Spirit will reveal Jesus to these searchers. Pray also for good fellowship and that people will gradually start to gel and to trust one another. Pray for all who lead and help – this is such important work in our community. Pray also for patience with those who struggle to understand the message of the gospel.

Monday

Neil is leading another “Lead your church into Growth” course on 3rd March in Walsall. Pray that the Holy Spirit will stir up men and women to make Christ known and give them a new heart for the preaching and teaching of the Word of God. Thank God for Neil and his heart for mission within the Church and ask that the Holy Spirit will bless him as he seeks to inspire others. Pray for clergy for whom a new approach to evangelism will be difficult; ask the Lord to give them the courage to lean on Him so that the Holy Spirit can do His work.

Tuesday

Neil will be speaking to the confirmation group on the 22nd March. Pray that his words will inspire them and encourage them in their walk with Jesus. Pray that this time will hold a very special place in their lives and that it will be the start of a new kind of life for them, knowing Jesus and following Him, as they grow and mature. Thank God for leaders who faithfully nurture our young people in the way of Christ.

Wednesday

The 6pm service on the 11th March will be led by our young people with the youth band. Pray that we will encourage them by coming to worship with them. It is so good to see these youngsters taking such an active part in ministry. Let’s pray that their offering will be pleasing to the Lord and that we may be able to learn something from them.

Thursday

Mothering Sunday is on 18th March. The church is usually full and we should have opportunities to witness and to welcome people we do not often see. Pray that the Holy Spirit will be active especially through the Word and that everyone will feel included as a result of our loving care.

Friday

The PCC meet on 27th March. Thank God for those who give up their time to plan and discuss all functions of St John’s. This is a busy church and there is much to do but thankfully there are faithful workers. Thank God for all who minister in whatever field to ensure the work of the church proceeds. Most people lead busy lives but give priority to God’s work.

Saturday

The 3 schools will be in church on Friday 30th March for their Easter services; this is usually enjoyable for them but hard work for the clergy. Pray that teachers and pupils will be touched by the Easter message and that seeds will be sown that will bear fruit. Pray also for the preparation work now ongoing for Easter. Many people are involved in these preparations; thank God for them and their enthusiasm. Pray that all our hearts will be moved afresh as we contemplate the cross that secured our salvation.
