This is the Prayer Letter for February. Please use this list to target praying in your group over the next month. The prayer requests focus on quality rather than quantity.
Sunday
Please pray for the FROG’s (fully reliant on God) weekend away at Rydale Hall in the Lake District 15th – 17th February. Pray for Sarah and Eileen who will lead and all the other helpers. Pray that this will be a wonderful time of close fellowship for these young people and that they will draw nearer to God and to each other. Pray for a great weekend with plenty of fun and laughter that will live in their memories. Ask the Lord to take care of them all as they travel and take part in water activities.
Monday
The 10th February sees the launch of our evening Lent series on taking up the cross. Pray for Chris Byworth as he visits us on that date; ask the Holy Spirit to empower him and encourage us all in our walk towards Easter. Pray for an increase in spiritual hunger for God within our congregation and our nation.
Tuesday
The new basics course starts this month. Pray for all who lead and assist with these new seekers. Pray that any who may be unsure about coming will be prompted to come and pray for warmth and that they will feel comfortable. Pray that as He has blessed people in the past, our Lord will reach out and touch hearts and minds, revealing wonderful things.
Wednesday
Sarah and Joanna will be starting the confirmation course for young people this month. Thank God for them and all the work they do to bring our youngsters into fellowship and faith. Pray for the 5 who are going forward to make a public commitment to our Lord. Pray that this will be the start of an exciting lifelong journey with Jesus as their guide. Pray too for their homes and families.
Thursday
Terry and Pancha Barrett will be visiting St John’s on 24th February. Pray for them as they travel and pray for their tremendous commitment to spreading the Word and sending out new teachers. Ask the Lord to show us how we can continue to support this mission in Chile.
Friday
Keep on praying for Neil and his core team in Liverpool as they continue to build a new church. Thank God for the grant received to support an overseas student; ask for the Lord’s blessing on this young man. Thank God for Neil’s vision and enthusiasm for this city centre church; ask the Lord to continue to encourage him and his fellow workers in bringing the kingdom of God into that part of Liverpool.
Saturday
Keep on praying for our church as we go through the interregnum. Pray particularly for Simon and Brian and all who help with leading and preaching. Thank God for the continuing popularity of the shoppers’ services which have reached out to so many. Pray for our wardens Denise and Mark who have borne a big responsibility with faith and commitment; thank God for them. Pray for continued growth and outreach both locally and globally as we move forward keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus.
