This is the Prayer Letter for June. Please use this list to target praying in your group over the next month. The prayer requests focus on quality rather than quantity.
Sunday
On the 6th July our young people will be taking the 10.30 service. How blessed we are to have them playing a full part in the worship in our church. Ask the Lord to fill their hearts and minds with His Holy Spirit as they work together to prepare the service, and pray that the congregation will support and encourage them as they minister to us. It will be different from what we are used to; pray for the Lord’s blessing on all that they do in His name.
Monday
The Parish Picnic will take place after the youth service on 6th July. Pray that we will all take the opportunity to invite friends and relatives along to join with us in worship, fellowship and fun at Rufford Hall. This is an excellent time to broaden the range of our Christian friends, to meet with those we recognise but do not really know and share some time in real fellowship, making new relationships. Thank God for the freedom we have to relax together as Christians.
Tuesday
Richard, Jo, Josh and Rachael will be saying their goodbyes this month: a difficult time for them. Pray for them during this time of upheaval and change and ask the Lord to be with them as they prepare to move to Burscough. Thank God for Richard and his obvious enthusiasm to join us and carry forward the work of the Lord. “This is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes”.
Wednesday
Our older youth group PUSH (pray until something happens) will be spending a weekend at Rydal Hall Ambleside on 20th-21st June. Pray for the Holy Spirit’s encouragement and presence as they spend time together and worship in beautiful surroundings. Pray for the leaders who do such wonderful work, and pray for safety for them all as they travel. These occasions can be times of great growth in faith; pray for any who may be unsure, that the Lord will minister powerfully by His Holy Spirit.
Thursday
Please continue to pray for Neil and the Church in the City; it seems likely that a decision about St James’s could be imminent, and whatever the outcome, Neil and his fledgling church are eager to move forward. Pray that the Church’s Conservation Trust will make the right decision, whatever that may be ,and quickly. It is a time for trusting; thank God for Neil and his fellow workers as they continue to build His church in Liverpool; pray for confidence in the Lord in the sure knowledge that He is with them.
Friday
Pray for Julia and Philip who will be married in our church on 28th June. Thank God for this lovely Christian couple and pray that their special day will be truly blessed in every way; pray for a loving, long and happy married life together. Thank God for the very special gifts He has given them and ask for a very special day of rejoicing for all of us.
Saturday
Please pray for Prayer 60. During June we are asked to wait on the Lord to lay on our hearts a specific prayer. Pray that many, many people will be inspired to take up this challenge - it may prove to be highly significant for our church’s future. Pray that the Lord will honour all who call on Him in faith at this time, so that we may expect great things, for we know we have a great God who loves to receive our prayers. Pray that many more people will discover the power of prayer for their lives and witness.
