Monthly Prayer Letter

Go to previous prayer letter:

This is the Prayer Letter for July / August.  Please use this list to target praying in your group over the next month.  The prayer requests focus on quality rather than quantity.

Sunday

On 15th July, Joanna and Sarah will be doing a “It’s Your Move” service in church for the junior schools in our village, to help the children to prepare for moving up to secondary school. This is a big step for them and can be unnerving. Pray for them and for the Holy Spirit’s blessing on Sarah and Joanna as they minister to our young ones on the brink of a huge change in their lives. Ask the Lord to keep our children safe throughout the holidays and to take away any fear they may have about starting at a new school in September.

Monday

Prayer 60. Pray for a great outpouring of prayer from our church members at this time. Please ask the Lord to prompt and minister by His Holy Spirit so that many will realise the mighty power of God to change situations in response to the faithful believing prayers of His people. Pray that people will not be afraid to ask the seemingly impossible, for nothing is impossible for our Lord.

Tuesday

Pray for David and Martin and Jeannie as they go in God’s name to Paraguay to work on projects in Asuncion, Concepcion and The Chaco. Pray that the Lord will bless all the work they are doing in His name, give them safe keeping and keep them in good health and spirits. Pray that He will minister alongside them and through them, bringing the power of His love into every situation and His blessings on the communities there.

Wednesday

Our summer series of sermons has an Olympic theme: keeping fit spiritually by keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide all who will lead and preach, that by His Spirit we will all be blessed, and pray for the congregation’s patience and forbearance as we include items for our children over the summer months.

Thursday

On 27th July Richard will be taking his last service at his present church. Pray for him and his family as they say their goodbyes; pray also for those he leaves behind for they will now be looking for someone to stand in the gap. The family will be moving in to the vicarage at the end of July and Richard is to be licensed on 1st September. Pray that they will all settle in quickly and soon feel very much at home. Ask for our Lord’s encouragement for them in their new situation.

Friday

Some of our church families will be going to the New Wine festival at Newark on 26th July. Pray for safety as they travel. Pray for all the worship and fellowship, those who will teach and lead, and pray for a new experience of the Holy Spirit’s presence in a powerful way, particularly in the lives of the young as they see new expressions of worship.

Saturday

On the 16th July there is to be a mums and toddlers celebration for the end of term. Give thanks for the commitment of this group over many years and as some of the children will be starting school in September, pray for them and their mums that they will not forget the Lord, but take Him with them on this new journey.
