This is the Prayer Letter for July / August. Please use this list to target praying in your group over the next month. The prayer requests focus on quality rather than quantity.
Sunday
Pray for the Spririt's leading throughout the summer season at St John's, as we reach out to our younger members. Pray for understanding hearts and minds, and an outpouring of love the the young people, from our regular 10.30 congregation.
Monday
Pray for Project Paraguay, which is already underway. Pray that the people of Paraguay will see and understand God's love in action, and their hearts will be opened to receive His Holy Spirit. Pray for the safety and health of the team from St John's and other parts of the UK, as they journey on 22nd July. Pray for the younger members, that this experience will be life changing for them an will lead to greater things for God.Pray for good, strong, close loving relationships to form between all parties.
Tuesday
About 60 people are going to New Wine on 7th August, and some 8-14 years old are going to be involved in various ways. Pray for them, that their young faiths will be deepened and enhanced by the experience of worship in a different atmosphere and environment. Pray for new spiritual contacts and friendships for everyone who goes, and pray that the Spirit will lead everything that is planned.
Wednesday
Pray for Kerry as she takes time to prepare the final M course, M5. Ask the Lord to be very close to her, leading her by His Spirit, to show her what He requires from us as we worship Him. Thank God for Kerry and her many years of faithful service and for all others who have been instrumental in creating the basis of our church programme.
Thursday
Pray for the BBQ event for GTI's and their parents on 9th July. Pray for a warm, friendly, lively atmosphere to enable our leaders to really get to know new people and start to form good relationships. Ask the Lord, by His Holy Spirit, to take down any barriers that might exist, and pray for really good fun.
Friday
Please pray for Diane, Wendy and Paul as they travel to Belarus on a fact-finding mission. Ask the Lord's help in discerning the greatest need for St John's to address. Thank God for these dear ones, giving up their time to help others, and ask for His protection as they travel. Pray for Godly wisdom as they make their assessments, and strength as they come across situations which may be difficult to come to terms with.
Saturday
Pray for the 0-5's leaders' meeting on 21st July, for prayer, training and reflection. Pray for enthusiasm as they look forward to a new year, and for open mindedness and loving hearts as they consider the future programme for these little ones. Also, pray for the recce trip for leaders at the end of July, as they plan a GTI weekend away in September. There is nowadays so much work and paperwork attached to such an event, particularly vis a vis risk assessment, that we need to thank God for the dedication of the leaders of our young people and pray for them as they do what is required by law so that our children are able to enjoy themselves in a good Chistian environment.
