Monthly Prayer Letter

Go to previous prayer letter:

This is the Prayer Letter for June.  Please use this list to target praying in your group over the next month.  The prayer requests focus on quality rather than quantity.

Sunday

Please pray for our young people as they take GCSE and A level exams this month; this is a very stressful time for them and for their families. Pray that they will be able to recall all that they have faithfully learned, and that their families will be fully supportive and encouraging.

Monday

Continue to pray for Matty as he begins his second year with Youth for Christ. Thank God for all He has done in Matty’s life and pray that He will continue to uphold him and use him to bless others.

Tuesday

Richard and 7 lay members will be drawing alongside five couples and Godparents in a new Baptism preparation process to help them understand more deeply what baptism means. Please ask the Lord to guide and equip the team as they reach out with His love.

Wednesday

Over twenty people have been taking part in the Acorn Healing listening programme with Jenny Cosslett over the past 5 weeks, in preparation for the new Horizon bereavement ministry which starts in June. Pray for this outreach ministry, that it will provide sanctuary and comfort for those who are suffering the pain of losing a loved one. Ask the Lord for compassion, gentleness and sensitivity as they minister.

Thursday

Ian and Nicola Greenwood and their three children will be moving into the parish during June. Please pray for all the practical and emotional matters involved with moving; pray for Ian as he prepares for his ordination on 5th July; ask the Lord to encourage him now as he joins us in mission to Burscough.

Friday

The "It’s Your Move" service for our 3 primary schools will be held in church this month to help prepare these little ones for moving up to secondary school. The change can be disturbing for them; they can be fearful of being separated from their friends. Pray that this service will calm some of their fears as they hear about God’s love for them and His ever present help, and pray that the booklet they receive will remind them to look to Him when doubts and fears arise. Thank God again for the interaction between schools and church and ask Him to continue to prosper this vital work.

Saturday

Keep on praying for the Little Stars monthly services in church. Thank God for the over 40 children and their parent/ carers coming along. Pray that the Lord by His Holy Spirit is steadily capturing their hearts and minds with His love for them through His servants Richard and Joanna. This is such an important ministry to young families; pray for even more growth as they seek to make Jesus known.
