This is the Prayer Letter for November. Please use this list to target praying in your group over the next month. The prayer requests focus on quality rather than quantity.
Sunday
Remember our pastoral teams in your prayers as they visit the housebound, sick and bereaved. Thank God for the work that they do and ask for His blessing on everything they undertake in His name and for His sake. Pray for Jenny as she coordinates all aspects of this ministry; there is so much need in this field. Ask the Lord to send more workers to witness to His goodness and love.
Monday
Frog and Push groups are having a quiet away day at Crabtree Mission with some of their leaders on 29th Nov.. They will be eating together, spending time in fellowship and thinking, talking and praying about stepping out in faith in their everyday lives. These times of close communion are so important for our young people to get deeper with God; pray for them all, leaders and youth, and ask the Holy Spirit to be active in their hearts and minds, helping them to have a closer walk with God.
Tuesday
Continue to pray for all who are participating in the Alpha Course. Pray that the Lord will gently engage His people as we journey through the final weeks. Pray that most people will feel able to commit to Holy Spirit day on the 7th when we will learn more about the Spirit’s intercessions and influence in our lives; pray for Richard, for the Lord’s blessing as He leads us on that day. Also, continue to thank God for the ones who serve us week by week; pray that they will continue to minister with glad hearts and not grow weary of doing good deeds.
Wednesday
Another gentle and reflective healing service is to take place on 11th Nov. Thank God that those who came last month experienced His extraordinary peace and comfort. Pray that those who will come will be open to His healing and ask the Lord to keep His servants sensitive and meek as they minister, so that His sovereign power to heal and bless the needy can be fully realised.
Thursday
Joanna and Sarah will be attending a Youth work conference in Eastbourne this month. Pray for their safety as they travel, and for the blessing of God’s Holy Spirit on the leaders and speakers at the conference. The task of building God’s church is particularly crucial in the field of youth work; pray that this conference will be geared to blessing His church through God centred biblical teaching. Pray for all our many active children’s leaders and helpers and thank God for them and the important work they do.
Friday
Pray that there will be close communion of hearts and minds as we remember the fallen at our Remembrance Day services on 8th Nov in church and at the Ringtail Memorial on the 11th. This is a special time when communities and the whole country come together in sorrow, prayer and thanksgiving. May we all thank God for His deliverance and share with those who sorrow, praying for the broken hearted. Pray for peace in the hearts of all men.
Saturday
Preparations for our Christmas services and activities will begin in earnest this month. This is a wonderful time of opportunity for outreach in our community. We need to be prayerfully led at this important time. Pray for all leaders and ask for God’s Holy Spirit to be active in all our hearts, showing us which way we must do His work to enable people to hear the call of Christ to repentance and faith, for “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved”.
