Monthly Prayer Letter

Go to previous prayer letter:

This is the Prayer Letter for February.  Please use this list to target praying in your group over the next month.  The prayer requests focus on quality rather than quantity.

Sunday

There is a Baptism Preparation teaching evening on Monday 1st Feb. Thank God for the continuing requests for baptism and the willingness of families to learn the significance that this service has for their infants. Pray that, along with the practical arrangements for this important day, families will discover just how much the Lord desires to love and encourage them and to pour out His blessings upon them throughout the vital years of nurturing and caring. For the many in our church.

Monday

Please pray for our pastoral team as they go with Christ’s love to visit the sick, elderly and housebound throughout the area. Thank God for the many in our church who give up their time to this work. Ask the Lord to richly bless them and go with them as they visit, filling their hearts with love and compassion, patience and kindness.

Tuesday

The confirmation course for young people begins on 8th February: Richard will be taking the first session. Pray for these children as they contemplate taking this important step in their lives. Ask the Lord to lead and guide them so that they become fully aware of the commitment involved in giving their lives to Him, and ask for the Holy Spirit’s presence and enabling for them and Joanna and Sarah as the course continues week by week.

Wednesday

The monthly healing service is on Wednesday 10th Feb. Please pray for all who come in need of reassurance, healing and peace. Ask the Lord to minister through His Spirit, soothing anxious hearts and minds, touching all who seek His help and love, letting them know that at the heart of turbulence there is inner clam that comes from faith in Him.

Thursday

Our youth groups are having a residential weekend away 12 – 14th Feb with 37 young people and 10 adults. Please pray that this will be a very special and significant time for them, encouraging them to grow in faith and to perhaps take another step on their Christian journey. Pray for the Holy Spirit’s presence with leaders as they teach, and thank God for all those who care so much about these children. Pray too for safety and plenty of fun and laughter.

Friday

Please continue to pray for our clergy team; our prayers for them are essential. Ask for God’s grace to cover them at all times in all their work and preparations. Pray for good health for them and their families and ask the Lord to cover their homes with His protection. Thank God for their faithful ministry to us week by week, and make us more aware of the blessings we have in them.

Saturday

Keep on praying about the morning assembly work in the village schools. Pray for the Holy Spirit’s help and guidance as our leaders deliver the Christian message to the children and to those who have such an influence over their young lives. This is vital work in our community for the Lord; ask Him to bless it.
