This is the Prayer Letter for April. Please use this list to target praying in your group over the next month. The prayer requests focus on quality rather than quantity.
Sunday
The “Explorer” course for anyone enquiring about the Christian faith starts on 22nd April. Please pray for all seekers, knowing that the Lord, by His Holy Spirit, will reach out and touch the hearts and minds of those whom He chooses. Pray against those forces which would prevent people from coming and ask the lord to encourage and bless all who truly seek Him. Pray for a warm and comfortable reception for all comers, and for the confidence of the Lord for all who lead and help.
Monday
On 23rd April, 15 families will be going away to Bala for the weekend to spend time together in Christian love and fellowship. Pray for Richard and Joanna as they lead and teach and for plenty of fun for all. Ask the Lord to make this a very special time for adults and children and pray that faith will grow.
Tuesday
Please pray about the new sermon series beginning 18th April, “Living the Gospel”. Pray that we may all be encouraged to become more faithful in our worship, more Christlike in our attitudes, and more generous in spirit and deed. Pray for our clergy and any others who will lead the series; for gentleness and wisdom for them and ask the Lord to speak to each one of us according to our needs.
Wednesday
Pray for a lively and instructive gathering at the Annual Parish Meeting on 27th April. Pray that the Lord will lead those who are called to serve on the PCC and thank Him for those who willingly serve in this way. The Lord has been good to us through His servants in past years; pray that the desire to serve will continue. Thank Him particularly for the ongoing work and commitment of our churchwardens David and Diane.
Thursday
This month 12 children from the Chernobyl contaminated country of Belarus are spending time with us, staying at Shirdley Hill. Pray for these children all of whom have been badly affected by the nuclear fallout, and pray too for their families back home. Thank God for all who have been involved in bringing them here and caring for them. Pray that they all may have a blessed time here and that their young bodies will be strengthened with good food and clear air. Pray that they will have a fun-filled and stimulating time in our country.
Friday
Thank God that the confirmation classes are proceeding quite well. Pray for these children as they go deeper with our Lord and come to terms with what it means for them to commit their lives to Him. Pray for Sarah Holman, Jennie Short and Dave Roberts that as they lead and encourage, the Lord, by His Holy Spirit, will guide and equip them to reach these young minds I just the right way.. Thank God for willing servants in this important work.
Saturday
Keep on praying for the vital work being done in the Church Hall mid week, ministering to JC’s (11-14) and FROGS (14-16), about 50 children overall. Not all these children are coming to church regularly, but they are receiving Christian fellowship and teaching. Pray for all the leaders involved, asking for wisdom and safety for them as they lead and guide and thank God for their love for these young ones.
