Monthly Prayer Letter

Go to previous prayer letter:

This is the Prayer Letter for January.  Please use this list to target praying in your group over the next month.  The prayer requests focus on quality rather than quantity.

Sunday

During January, the 6.30 sermons will cover M5 magnification, i.e. worship. Please pray that this series will enable us to go deeper in our worship and that, as a result, we will all draw nearer to God and have a closer fellowship with Him and with one another. Pray for a breakdown of the barriers of preconceived ideas and attitudes surrounding worship, so that we can concentrate more on our Lord and less on ourselves as we seek His presence.

Monday

There is to be a training day for M3 encouragers on 22nd January at Westhead church. Pray for enthusiasm for all those who have been called to this work; pray for those who will lead and thank God for them, and the commitment and energy they show. Pray for any who may feel apprehensive about doing this and ask the Lord for His equipping.

Tuesday

Pray for the 14-16 year olds youth group, which is starting a 6 weeks Youth Alpha course on 9th January. Pray that the Lord will open their hearts to understand His great love for them, and that they will respond to that love. Pray for their homes and families, that they will encourage them, and pray for Godly wisdom and love for those who will lead them.

Wednesday

A new Christian Basics course will start on 26th January. Pray that more people will be drawn to find out more about the Good News of Jesus. Pray that each one of us will be prepared to encourage someone to come along; pray for opportunities to become apparent, and that the Lord is even now preparing someone who you can reach out to. Remember our purpose statement.

Thursday

Pray for our Peter House project in Belarus this year. Political attitudes there are hardening, and our mission for the children may be affected. Pray that the Lord will remove any obstacles that would hinder His work. Pray too, for Oleg, that he may be able to continue to minister in Borisov, with the Lord’s help.

Friday

There is to be an away day for the 16 – 18 year olds youth during January. Let’s pray that this will be a very special time for these young people as they learn more about God the Holy Spirit. Pray for the leaders, that the Lord will fill them with His Spirit as they minister, and that the young people will grow ever stronger in their faith as they approach their adult lives. Pray for real closeness and good times.

Saturday

Continue to pray for the group meeting at Simon and Clare’s home for the Converts to Disciples course. Thank God that this group is growing closer and enjoying the time spent together. Pray that the Lord by His Holy Spirit will continue to work in their hearts and minds to bring about the wonderful transformation to enable and empower them to be His ministers.
